James A. Santjer (Big Jim), Age 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Champaign, Illinois, on March 17, 1953. He moved to Florida in 1969. Jim attended Manatee High School and was on the wrestling team. He graduated in 1971.
Big Jim worked in the land clearing business, then later in life opened a storage business and a radio-controlled Race track. Jim raced the Pure stock class at DeSoto Speedway, then traveled around Florida racing the Pro truck series, followed by racing RC cars at his track Warzone Raceway. His quiet passion was fishing, and he loved to travel.
Most of all, he adored spending time with his grandchildren. His kindness and generosity are a true testament to his faith and will be cherished forever. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Jeffers-Santjer; his stepchildren, Shawntel Carlton (Lawton), Jessica Walsworth, and Robert Jeffers Jr.; his adoring sister, Lois Santjer; his brother, Jack Santjer; and his son, John Santjer (Megan), as well as 11 grandchildren who will treasure his memory. He is predeceased by his Father, Arnold Santjer, his Mother, Dorothy Santjer, and his son, James W Santjer.
Celebration of Life will be July 26th, 2025, at 11 A.M., Westcoast Church, 11750 US Hwy 301, Parrish, FL 34219
