James “Jimmy” Joseph Hannan, age 73, passed away on December 24, 2025, at home in Bradenton, Florida.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer H. Hannan, and his children and stepchildren: Chelsea Hannan, Shannan Butler, Bridget Parker, and Jason Messina-Sechrest; his sisters Sandra Johnson, Kathleen Stevick, and Steve Hannan.

James was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Russell Hannan; his mother, Mary Jane (Brown) Hannan; his brother, Thomas Russell Hannan Jr.; and his sisters, Carol A. Kitkowski and Patricia Podany.

Born in Lima, Ohio, James was a man who could do almost anything. Over the years, he laid carpet and tile, owned a window blind business, and was a wonderful cook involved in many family restaurant ventures.

James was an easy-going spirit with a smile for everyone. He never met a stranger and was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted father who was always there for his family. He loved music, watching a ball game, playing golf, and spending time with those he cared about. He was known as a gracious host who was always willing to lend a hand.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Tidewell Hospice.
